Cuba is a Republic in the Caribbean with more than 10 million inhabitants. The island's capital is Havana. Cuba has in addition to dazzling white beaches also a vibrant nightlife and a very interesting history that clearly left its mark on the island. Cuba has because of its location a tropical climate. The average temperature is between 24 and 30 Celcius and the night temperature is about 21 Celcius. The months of July and August are the warmest months with high air humidity.

Cuba is bounded on the north by the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, on the south side of the Caribbean Sea. A quarter of Cuba is occupied by mountain ranges such as the Sierra de los Organos, Sierra del Escambraye and Sierra Maestra. The coast of Cuba is ranging from swamps and mangrove forests to cliffs and pearly white sand beaches.
One of the most beautiful places in Cuba are the green valleys of Vinales with the famous mogotes.

Weather and Climate in Cuba

Because of its location Cuba has a tropical climate. The average temperature is between 25 and 35 degrees Ceclius and the night temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius. July and August are the hottest months of the year with high humidity.
From early June to November is hurricane season in the Caribbean and there is a chance that Cuba is hit by tropical storms. In winter, it is still quite warm in Cuba and there is little rain. Daytime temperatures are at least 24 degrees and thus an excellent destination for the winter.

Cuba: Salsa, rum and cigars

When you think of Cuba then appears the images of the 1950. With oldtimers, cigars, salsa music, rum, but also the Cuban Revolution, Che Geuvara, Fidel Castro and Ernest Hemingway. In 1492, Christopher Columbus discovered the island of Cuba. In the centuries afterward many African slaves were under Spanish domination imported to work in the coffee and sugar plantations. Thereby the foundation was layed for the Cuban culture that is made up of a complex mix of African, Spanish and indigenous influences.
